Mutsun-Awaswas Sovereignty Foundation

Rooted in community, ceremony, and spirituality.

Since time immemorial, Mutsun-Awaswas people have carried relationships with Creator and our ancestors, and responsibilities to land, water, culture, family, and future generations. MASF continues those living responsibilities through ceremony, stewardship, cultural practice, truth, healing, and community care.

Foreword

Our responsibilities continue.

For countless generations, Mutsun-Awaswas people have cared for our traditional homeland through relationships founded on respect, reciprocity, and responsibility.

“Today, those responsibilities continue. The Mutsun-Awaswas Sovereignty Foundation was established to restore what was interrupted—not simply by preserving the past, but by preparing future generations to carry forward our responsibilities with knowledge, compassion, and wisdom.”
